Online Poker Player "dudix" Wins Event No. 1 of Bodog Mini-SOP

by A Bodog Beat Original  |  May 31st, 2008

The Bodog Mini-SOP kicked off last night with the $100+$9 Pot Limit Holdem event, the same day as the $10,000 Pot Limit Holdem World Championship event began at the 2008 WSOP. However, unlike the first event of the 2008 WSOP, which goes into Day 2 today, the first event of the Bodog Mini-SOP crowned a champion last night, and that distinction goes to online poker player "dudix."

"dudix" beat out a tough field of 85 players, who combined to generate a total prizepool of $8,500, awarding $2,500 to the top spot. This is not the first win at Bodog for the online poker player as he has taken down several smaller buy-in and smaller field online poker tournaments and is a regular in the Bodog Poker room.

This unique online poker tournament continues tonight, and runs through July 3, with the $15 buy-in No Limit Holdem event to mirror the $1,500 No Limit Holdem event that kicks off today at the 2008 WSOP. After the completion of the 25 events of the Bodog Mini-SOP, Bodog will host a final tournament on July 10 that will award three seats to the 2009 WSOP Main Event, making Bodog the first online poker site to give away seats to next summer's Main Event.

For more information, check out the Bodog 2008 Mini-SOP online poker tournament series page.

There are also still plenty of opportunities available to qualify for this year's WSOP Main Event because Bodog is guaranteeing at least six $12,000 Main Event Prize Packages each and every week. 2008 WSOP online poker satellites start for as little as $1 and winners of a $12,000 Main Event Prize Package receive the $10,000 buy-in to the main event, $2,000 for travel expenses, loads of Team Bodog gear and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Las Vegas in total Bodog style, including meeting the Bodog Girls and much, much more.
