The third event of the Bodog Poker Open wrapped up last night with another big turnout for this inaugural poker tournament series. Event No. 3 ($110 NLH with Rebuys) drew 270 players to generate a generous prize pool of $102,800, including the extra $10,000 Bodog added to the purse.

As with most rebuy events, the prize pool last night was much larger in comparison to that of a regular freezout tournament despite a smaller field. In fact, the total prize pool was only $2k less than Event No. 1, which drew 377 players, but paid out just over $2k more to first place because of the 107 fewer players.

Taking advantage of this situation was Bodog Poker room regular "PckAces," who cashed in his first tournament on Bodog for $28,270 when he won the event last night. While "Pckaces" isn't new to Bodog he doesn't play many MTT's and usually sticks to cash and SNG's.

Also at the final table was Bodog regular "AlCarmo," who has been cleaning up in MTTs over the past few weeks and added $8,224 to that with a fourth place finish in this event.

Here are the full final table placings and payouts:

  1. PckAces – $28,270
  2. ibakitup – $17,990
  3. KGBluvsOrEoS – $11,924.80
  4. AlCarmo – $8,224
  5. NvrSirius19 – $6,168
  6. RJules12 – $4,626
  7. nikeboy717 – $3,598
  8. The Destroyer – $2,672.80
  9. Wild Duck – $1,747.60

Event No. 4 – $200 + $15 buy-in Pot Limit Holdem – gets underway tonight at 8 p.m. EST, and Bodog will once again juice the pot by adding $10,000 in additional money to the cash prize purse. Players can still satellite into any of the preliminary events through qualifiers running twice daily in the Bodog Poker Room.

The five preliminary events of the Bodog Poker Open all lead up to the series' championship, the $500 buy-in Bodog Poker Open Main Event, which will be held on Sunday, March 9 at 4 p.m. EST. To sweeten the pot even more than the series' preliminary events, Bodog is adding $25,000 in additional money to the championship's total prize purse.

In the end, the inaugural Bodog Poker Champion will be crowned and walk away with the top cash prize and an engraved Omega Speedmaster watch valued at $4,400. Qualifiers to the $500 buy-in Main Event are running daily at BodogLife.com, with 20 seats guaranteed every weekday night through this Friday.
