Day 2 ended much like it began at the alphabet soup event that is the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic's WPT Doyle Brunson Classic Championship (BFDWPCWPTDBCC), with poker pro Phil Ivey in a dominating position at the top of the leaderboard. The five-time WSOP bracelet winner began the day way out in front of the 440-person field and ended with a similar lead with only 152 still standing.

Other notable players who survived the attrition of the day include Bodog poker pro Evelyn Ng, Erick Lindgren, Daniel Negreanu, Daniel Alaei, Hoyt Corkins, Jonathan "FieryJustice" Little, Gus Hansen, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and many others. They will all return later today to play out Day 3, during which the money bubble should burst when player #101 is eliminated.

Some big names who have already been eliminated include the tournament's namesake Doyle Brunson, the drunk Christmas party host Phil Hellmuth, Bodog poker pros David Williams and Josh Arieh, Freddy Deeb, TJ Cloutier, Layne Flack, Patrik Antonius, Mike Matusow and, again, a whole host of others. Proving that they are the action junkies everyone knows them to be, Brunson, Antonius, Hellmuth, Jenn Harman and John Hanson immediately started a game of high-stakes Chinese Poker in Bobby's Room once they busted out.

Play starts back up at noon today and CardPlayer.com will have your live updates and chip counts.
