At about 3am this morning (local time), Day 2 of the $50,000 HORSE event at the 2008 WSOP wrapped up with 67 of the original 148 poker players left standing. As the deep stacks that these players began with get deeper as they collect the chips of those less fortunate, the level of action gets pretty high since those left have chips to play with. As a result of the amount of action, the leaderboard is very fluid with the lead changing on an almost hand-to-hand basis.

At different points yesterday, we pointed out that James Mackey, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Abraham Mosseri (?) held the chip lead, but none of them do now. Well, of course it would follow that there is someone different in the chip lead for the beginning and filling illustrious position is WPT co-founder Lyle Berman, who could probably use a little cash after the WPT stock hit penny status a few weeks ago.

Joining Berman up near the top of the leaderboard in the top ten are Barry Greenstein, Erick Lindgren, Team Bodog's own Justin Bonomo and Doyle Brunson. Then spread throughout the rest of the 40 remaining players are a bunch of other poker pros who have the talent and potential to make a move at any point, so expect the leaderboard to change a bunch again today.

We'll keep you posted on all the updated chip counts plus the other events that are going on in the Amazon Room, so stay tuned for all of your 2008 WSOP live update needs.
