The Asia Pacific Poker Tour event in Macau wrapped up last night with poker pro Nam Le taking down the High Roller's event and winning the HKD$3.7 million ($474,378) first-place prize. The final table lasted 11 hours and, much like the rest of the tournament, featured several huge names in the poker world.
All in all, 63 players ponied up the HKD$150,000 (USD$19,250 ) to play in the event, including Barry Greenstein, Johnny Chan, Joe Hachem, Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier, Hevad "Rain" Khan, Isabelle Mercier, Joe Hachem, Lee Nelson, and last year’s champ Eric Assadourian.
On his way to the victory, Le had to overcome a final table that included formidable opponent Johnny Chan, and he did so in dramatic fashion. Going into the dinner break, Le was the short stack at the table with only a few big blinds left to play with. Once the players returned, he went on a run that didn't end until he was holding aloft the trophy. The win puts Le ver close to the $5 million mark for career earnings.
Here are the full final table results:
1. Nam Le – $474,358
2. Andrew Scott- $269,230
3. Quinn Do – $153,846
