Each week the player at the top of Bodog Poker’s Weekly Tournament Leader Board gets a chance to play against a Bodog poker pro for at least $1,000. If the pro wins that cash is carried over to next week and so on until a leader board winner takes it down.
This week the prize was up to $5,000 and it was drexxel7 who found himself playing heads-up poker online against Jean-Robert Bellande for the cash.
The heads-up match didn’t take very long. It was only the tenth hand when Jean-Robert was dealt 6
Q
while drexxel7 had A
8
. With drexxel7 on the $20 big blind and holding just over double the chips he called a $50 raise from Jean-Robert.
The flop came 5
A
6
and drexxel7 checked it while Jean-Robert bet out $120. A check-raise to $240 from dexxel7 then led to a call from Jean-Robert.
The turn came the 6
and we can imagine Jean-Robert was rubbing his hands together at this point as drexxel7 pushed all-in. Obviously JR called and was probably in the process of doing a little jig when the A
spiked on the river. Ouch.
Well, not “ouch” for drexxel7 who is probably fanning himself with cash as we speak.
For Bellande, on the other hand, it probably brought back memories of another bad beat he recently took at the WSOP.
