What's your motivation for playing poker? (Image Coutesy of Despair.com

Why you play poker is different for everyone. Many play for the obvious reason, to win money, but there are lots of other reasons people play poker. Some play to compete, to outsmart an opponent and display more skill. Some play for fun and don’t really care whether they win or lose. Some even play for the camaraderie as they meet new people.

Why you play is for you to determine. I play because it’s what I love to do. To take it away from the sucker who doesn’t invest the time and effort that I do to get better. To work towards making a living for myself and my family and not have to answer to some idiot that wants to tell me what to do. For me poker is freedom. So why do you play? It might help your game to answer that question and discover why you do.
