Poker's Popularity Asks: Sport or Activity?

The still-rising star of the world of poker, particularly Texas Hold'em, has once again reached the point where the question is being asked: Is poker a sport?

I may wear padding on certain valuable parts of my body when I play online poker, but that doesn't necessarily make it a sport. If sports aren't about protecting your family jewels, then what makes a sport? I say having a World Series makes it a sport. After years of painstaking research, I give you my Poker Is A Sport Theorem:

1. World Series of Hockey – Prize: Stan's Glass or whatever
2. World Series of Baseball – Prize: I think they win more steroids, but don't quote me on that.
3. World Series of Football – Prize: something to do with a Lombard
4. World Series of Poker - Prize: More money than God.

Poker is a sport; I rest my case, y'honor.
