Among the WSOP Day 2A casualties was poker pro Scotty Nguyen. We missed the hand that he went out on but we had our eyes on him for a while and he had been short-stacked most of the day. We saw him double up while holding only a few thousand in chips, but apparently that wasn't enough to stave off elimination for the WSOP 2008 HORSE Champion.

We spoke with Team Bodog player Jean-Michele Pellande last Sunday about what it was like to play at the WSOP TV table with Scotty on Day 1A. Pellande couldn't say enough about Scotty's good natured humour and personality.

"He's a real class act," Pellande said. "He is very down to earth."

Another Bodog player said he thought the same thing and that as far as he knew Scotty only allowed himself one major indulgence which was his convertible Jaguar. Pellande explained that the Jaguar had been retired though.

"He told the table that he used some of the $2 million he won from the HORSE Championship to buy a Lamborghini."

So there you go. Scotty Nguyen might have been eliminated from the WSOP but he left it in a Lamborgini. It doesn't get much more stlyin than that.

Also recently eliminated was 2006 WSOP Main Event runner-up Paul Wasicka and this year's $2,000 WSOP NL Holdem bracelet winner Blair Hinkle.
