Well, the final table for the EPT Barcelona could have been a little more exciting, but we're sure that Sebastian Ruthenberg is excited enough for all of us having won $1.9 million for the victory. The recent WSOP bracelet winner took the lead after Day 2 and didn't slip out of the top five until claiming the trophy.

At the start of the final table, Ruthenberg was second in chips behind the lone Scandi at the table, Martin Nielsen, who then unfortuately became the first person to exit the building after some brutal hands that rapidly depleted his chip stack. After Nielsen's untimely departure, Ruthenberg stayed quiet for quite some time as Irishman Fintan Gavin picked off the next three final table opponents. Once down to four-handed play though, Ruthenberg picked up the pace and eliminated the next two, giving him a 5 to 1 chip lead going into heads-up play.

With that kind of disadvantage, Gavin found himself needing to make a move quickly and tried to do so only three hands into the match. However, his semi-bluff was picked off by Ruthenberg and he found himself heading back to Denmark with a paltry $1.2 million for second place. Poor guy.

This is Ruthernberg's first EPT win in two trips to a final table, and the trophy should fit nicely alongside his WSOP bracelet, which was won in the $5k Seven Card Stud event this past summer. The 24-year old has already racked up almost $3 million in career tournament earnings in his short career.

Next up for the European Poker Tour is the EPT London, which takes place Oct. 1 - 5, and features a £! million guranteed first-place prize. Also featured in London will be the new EPT London £1 Million Showdown. The high-roller, £20,000 buy-in poker tournament will take place on October 5 and 6.

Don't forget to head over to Bodog Poker and check out how to qualify online for an EPT event.
