After an interminably long hand-for-hand period in which it took over an hour to get from 653 players remaining down to 648, the money bubble has finally burst here at the 2009 WSOP Main Event.
The unfortunate title of "Bubble Boy" goes to Kia Hamadani this year, but as a consolation prize, the WSOP and Jack Link's will buy Hamadani into the 2010 WSOP Main Event.
All remaining players will walk away with at least $21,365 and right now, it looks like they are desparate to do just that. As with every year previously, the players are now dropping like flies and the line to the payout desk is getting longer and longer. Because there were 13 hands of hand-for-hand play, tournament officials have decided to add 39 minutes back to the clock (three minutes for every hand) and it looks like there will be less than 600 players left once the break hits. So, 90 players in 40 minutes.
We haven't seen any Bodog players in the line, so we'll just assume that all three of them are still in and we'll sort it out once the frenzy dies down.
