We've reached a dinner break on Day 2 of the WPT LA Poker Classic and every poker player's worst nightmare is sitting very close to the top of the leaderboard, Phil Ivey.
As you just heard from Jean-Robert Bellande in our latest video blog, not many pros enjoy facing down Ivey in any kind of situation and seeing him with a healthy chip stack cannot be a welcome sight to the rest of the field.
Behind Ivey on the leaderboard are still several players who could challenge his top spot, including Anna Wroblewski, Miami John Cernuto, Mark Seif, Antonio "Mr. WPT" Esfandiari, Dan Harrington and a laundry list of other notable players.
All in all, there are 234 players still standing in a rapidly shrinking area in the ballroom here at the casino, and we've still got quite a few hours of poker left to play. There's been some interesting side action going on up in the media area and once we process the pics and video, we'll fill you in on all the details.
So, stay tuned to the Beat for more live updates from the 2008 World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic.
