Poker pro Alex Outhred was having a great time playing during Day 2B of the 2008 WSOP Main Event and showed it by moving up to third place overall in chips. (Bodog Beat Image)

The 6,844 players who began the 2008 WSOP Main Event on four flights of Day 1 became the 3,629 players who started the two flights of Day 2, and they are now the 1,308 who will play together for the first time on the same day for Day 3.

The music is already playing in the Amazon Room and the players are beginning to trickle in (do YOU know all the words to the last part of "You Get What You Give" by The New Radicals because it turns out we do) and get situated for the long march to the money. Whether or not we will reach the money bubble, 666 players remaining, by the end of play today is the source for many debates and prop bets, but only time will tell.

Obviously, the current chip leaders will have the best opportunity to get themselves a little piece of the pie and last until the end of the day and possibly tomorrow. Brian Schaedlich leads the way with his huge chip stack of 801,000, which is way ahead of Peter Biebel (531,000) and then Alex Outhred (486,800), who we told you about yesterday, or maybe early this morning. Those three are followed by Raja Kattamuri (411,100), Hunter Frey (397,000) and Jeremiah Smith (386,000).

The day is now just about five minutes away from beginning so we're gonna start paying attention so we can bring you all of the best WSOP live updates that we can.
