WSOP Day Off
The 2008 World Series of Poker is taking a well-earned day of rest today. (Bodog Beat Image)

After four marathon-long flights of Day 1 here at the 2008 WSOP Main Event, the tournament has paused to take a breather and we will be doing the same. There is a Casino Employees event today and at the moment defending WSOP Main Event champ Jerry Yang is shaking the hand of every single person playing and getting his picture taken with a bunch of them. He may have been an invisible champion, but he's definitely a stand up guy.  Today also hosts the Media Event, which your intrepid Bodog Beat reporters will be taking down easily and in record time.

Looks like the overall chip leader coming out of those four Day 1s is Henning Granstad, who played on Day 1C and is sitting on 242,950 chips. No idea who he is and not gonna really worry about it as there's still six more days of poker left to play and those who are at the top most likely will not remain there and so on and so on.

We're working on compiling a list of all of the Team Bodog players who survived the carnage to get through to Day 2. We do know for definite that Bodog poker pro Evelyn Ng and Jean-Robert Bellande both got through and will be playing in Day 2B on Wednesday. There were so many other player sthough that it's got our head spinning, so we'll keep you posted. Stay tuned for more WSOP live updates.
