Another day, another event at the 2009 WSOP. Today it's the $2,000 No Limit Holdem tournament that has drawn out over 1,500 players and counting. Out in the field are several familiar faces, including Joe Sebok, Sorel "imper1um" Mizzi, 2008 WSOP last woman standing Tiffany Michelle, her BFF and 2007 WSOP last woman standing Maria Ho, Humberto Brenes, Liv Boeree, JC Tran, Lee Watkinson and many more.

Later today there will be a handful of events either wrapping up or continuing play:

$2,500 Pot Limit Holdem/Omaha – This one went down from its startting field of 453 down to 99. Players whose names you may recognize include Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Alex Kravchenko, Hevad Khan, Nam Le, Daniel Negreanu and, well, a bunch of others (there are 99 people left after all). Play for this event starts back up in about 10 minutes.

$1,500 Six-Handed No Limit Holdem – Holy crap this field got small quickly. The field began at 1,459 and by the end of Day 1 had shed 1,354 participants to get down to the 105 who will head back to the Amazon Room at 2pm local time to try and play down to a final table of six. At the rate of eliminations yesterday, that should take 15 minutes. Left in the field are Doug Lee, Jeremiah Smith and a bunch of people whose mothers' love them.

$2,500 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw – What started with a stacked field and high expectations for a spectacular final table has now boiled down to the Phil Ivey show. "Can he win another bracelet?" is the question on everyone's lips, and later on today we'll find out. He'll have an uphill climb, however, as he's got the second-shortest chip stack at the final table, but there's still plenty of poker to play and we all know how good he is at that.

$1,500 No Limit Hold'em – 2,791 players are now down to 33 and they'll be gunning for a final table today. Play eventually was called off at 3am this morning and those players are already back at it, hoping to get a shot at the $666,853 first-place prize.

Stay tuned for more 2009 WSOP updates and don't forget that you can get in on this action by qualifying for a $12,000 WSOP prize package through Bodog Poker.
