AL MVP: Since winning usually helps the writer's vote, my pick is Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox. He caught fire in the second half, while providing quality D, and is the best of what's been a down year for MVP candidates in the AL.

NL MVP: Despite some love for Manny and Ryan Howard, this one seems easy to me. Albert Pujols is the best player in baseball and should take home the award.  Pujols led the NL in slugging percentage and was an excellent defender for the entire season.

AL Cy Young: As much as I want to pick the hard-working Roy Halladay, I am going to go with the consensus and take Cliff Lee of the Indians. His 22 wins and ability to keep runs off the board is enough to separate him from the Jays ace.

NL Cy Young: Tim Lincecum had a fantastic season, with a 2.66 ERA in 220 innings and a strikeout rate of over 10 batters per nine innings. He also had to pitch in front of a horrible defense in San Francisco. For those reasons I pick him over the likes of Santana, Webb and even Sabathia.
