The San Francisco 49ers are the favorites in the NFC West with -110 odds. They wrap up today’s 2010 training camp outlook.

The Niners made some impressive strides last season. The “D” is great, finishing fourth in fewest points allowed. The unit remains relatively intact and head coach Mike Singletary probably won’t push it so hard in the preseason, saving their legs for the stretch run. Good things should happen.

Alex Smith is the key on offense. There are plenty of other great pieces in place. Vernon Davis exploded as a brilliant threat at tight end, while Michael Crabtree had a very successful rookie debut despite a holdout. The line is rock-solid, especially after drafting Anthony Davis and Mike Iupati in the first round, which will plough the way for running back Frank Gore. If Smith can minimize his mistakes, the Niners are playoff bound.
