A Tar Heel Lottery

tar heels.jpgMadison Square Garden had a decidedly Carolina Blue feel to it last night, as four members of the UNC Tar Heels went in the top 14 picks.

After Luc Lon…errrr…Andrew Bogut went 1st overall to Milwaukee, the draft went straight down tobacco road.

Marvelous Marvin Williams went #2 to Atlanta (tough luck, Marv); Ray Felton went at #6 to Charlotte. The Bobcats made their draft an in-state affair just seven picks later, landing 2005 NCAA tournament MVP Sean May with the 13th overall pick.

Right after Charlotte reunited Felton and May, Minnesota made history with the #14 pick, taking Rashard McCants. This marked only the second time a school had four picks in the first round – the first being the 1999 Duke squad.
