Following a unanimous decision loss to Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell (21-5-0) at UFC 79: Nemesis on Dec. 29, Brazilian fighter Wanderlei Silva (31-8-1) is going back to the drawing board, and plans to improve for his next performance by training with world kickboxing champion Ernesto Hoost.

"My fight with Chuck showed me that I need to practice more wrestling and Muay Thai [kickboxing]," Silva says in his online blog. "I've been thinking of spending some time in Holland. I met Ernest Hoost here in Vegas and he seemed a very nice man, I think I will try that."

Silva prepared for his fight with Liddell at the Xtreme Couture gym in Las Vegas but says that, in addition to training with Hoost, he hopes to reconnect with his old team in Brazil for future training.

"I am going to Brazil in the next days to see my parents and my daughter," he writes. "I hope to meet Shogun [Mauricio Rua], Ninja [Murilo Rua], Andre "Dida" [Amade], Luiz Azeredo, Daniel Acácio and Evangelista "Cyborg" [Santos] to ask them to help me to my next fight. They are great athletes and great friends also, my last preparation would be better with them and I hope that in 2008 they can be next to me in my training sessions."

"I am very glad to have the opportunity to work with my new team for the past three months," he explains. "I was very well prepared and I made a good UFC debut but unfortunately I have some weaknesses that I bring for many years and it's hard to change that. I will do my best to change those mistakes and I am sure that I will be able to change!"
