With an underwhelming logjam at shortstop and the erratic play of starting pitcher A.J. Burnett, the Toronto Blue Jays look poised to at least look into making a deal.
Burnett, in his third year as a Jay has gone 8-8 in 18 appearances so far this season with an ERA just under five.
Speculation suggests that Burnett may be packaged with one of John MacDonald or David Eckstein as the Jays look to secure an everyday starter at the shortstop position.
Between Eckstein's struggles defensively and MacDonald's traditional batting woes new Jays manager Cito Gaston hopes to find an answer.
One possible destination for Burnett appears to be Baltimore, while the Pittsburgh Pirates on the other hand seem to have their share of players on the trading block as well.
