Andy Pettitte says he told the truth about Roger Clemens (AP Images)

Although Andy Pettitte says he loves Roger Clemens like a brother, he’s sticking to his story about HGH use.

“I think Roger knows how I feel about him,” said Pettitte. “I admire him and continue to admire him. I love him like a brother… I’ve only been honest.”

Pettitte says he used HGH in attempt to recover from injuries. He also says he doesn’t consider himself a cheater, just desperate and stupid. He took HGH after learning about it from Brian McNamee, but doesn't think he was pressured, rather thought he was doing the right thing at the time.

As for how the allegations against Clemens affect Pettitte and the New York Yankees this season, Pettitte says he’s going to be ready.

“Man I am hoping and praying I don’t have to do anything else with this. I am going to do everything possible to prepare myself.”
