On Sunday afternoon world No. 2 ranked Roger Federer came all too close to losing his bid for a 14th Grand Slam title at the 2009 Australian Open. Playing Czech Tomas Berdych, Federer had to come back in the third set to claim the match at 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-4, 6-2.

So, for the first time since 1970 the top eight seeds in the men's draw advanced to the fourth round at the 2009 Australian Open.

On Monday, No. 1 ranked Rafael Nadal will play No. 13 Fernando Gonzalez; No. 4 Andy Murray will play No. 14 Fernando Verdasco; No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will play James Blake; and No. 6 Gilles Simon will meet No. 12 Gael Monfils.

Over in the Bodog Sportsbook, Federer is listed at 2/1 odds to win the Australian Open; while Nadal is listed at 33/10 odds to win.
