"I practised with him at the U.S. Open," said Federer of Tipsarevic. "I really feel like he's hitting a good ball. He's good off both sides. He came through some tough matches. It's going to be interesting to see how the beginning of the match starts. It's going to be a dangerous match."

Federer hammered Fabrice Santoro 6-1 6-2 6-0 in the second round Thursday.

"I just really got off to a good start and after that, it was tough for him," Federer told reporters. "I really didn't give him much. I think I really played him in a very smart way."
