The Seattle Mariners ended the first half of the season with momentum and will try to keep it going when they open on the road against the Cleveland Indians on Thursday.

Seattle took three of four from the Texas Rangers before the break, and in the process knocked the Rangers out of first place in the American League West.

The Indians' final game before the All-Star break looked a lot like many of their games in the first half of the season. In a 10-1 loss to Detroit, righthander Tomo Ohka only lasted 3 2/3 innings, giving up five runs.

Cliff Lee is up in the rotation Thursday, and even though he is only 4-9 on the year he has dominated the Mariners.

The lefthander is 7-1 in his career against Seattle in 10 starts.

The Mariners will counter with Garrett Olson, who is 1-0 in two career starts against the Indians.
