These are not the happiest of times at Shea Stadium.

While the Mets aren't terrible - although their 1-0 loss to Washington last night put them 20-19 overall - there is a growing sense of frustation around a team many expected to battle for a World Series title. Billy Wagner, the team's closer, thinks that a few more players should be accountable for the mediocrity, especially after games that he himself didn't participate in.

"Somebody want to tell me why the closer is being interviewed and I didn't even play," Wagner said in an expletive-laced tirade, "and why they are over there and not being interviewed? I got it; they're gone. (Big) shocker."

Wagner continued later on in an interview on ESPN Radio.

"I was not a participant in the game. And the guys that had participated were gone," Wagner said. "We're all upset and we're all unhappy about the way we were playing. I hadn't even played, I had no role in the game. David Wright is always there. The same guys are always there. But there needs to be the other guys accountable."

The guys many assume Wagner is talking about are Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado.
