Generally speaking, a duel between Brandon Webb and Barry Zito should be even.

Both are bonafide aces. Both have won Cy Young awards. Both are the aces of their respective staffs – the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants.

You can throw that all out the window in 2008, however. Thanks to another brilliant outing by Webb and another mediocre one from Zito, the pitchers now have polar opposite records after Arizona's 4-1 victory over San Fran on Wednesday. Webb now sits at 4-0; Zito fell to 0-4.

Aside from throwing eight innings of one-run ball (with five strikeouts), Webb knocked in two runs on an early single and watched with delight as Zito could only make it through the sixth. D-Backs shortstop Stephen Drew went 2-for-4 from the dish, scoring a run and upping his batting average to .294 for the year. The win now has Arizona at 11-4 on the season, first place in the NL West.

San Fran's struggles go beyond Zito as the team continued to be stymied at the plate. The Giants could only muster three hits in the contest, with 3-4 hitters Randy Winn and Bengie Molina going a combined 0-for-7.

Arizona came in as a -185 moneyline favorite (-1.5, -120).
