Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell (20-5-0) has sought out the help of "peak performance" coach Tony Robbins to help him recapture the title.
Liddell was on a 7-fight winning streak when he ran into Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (29-6-0) in May. After losing by a hard TKO to Jackson for the second time, Liddell was given a fight with Keith Jardine (13-3-1) to "rebound". Unfortunately, the only thing that rebounded was Jardine's fists off of Liddell's head, and "The Iceman" lost again.
Now, it looks like Liddell is trying a new approach to finding the fighter he used to be.
"I just got a call from Chuck Liddell," Robbins tells the Boston Herald. "Chuck is finding himself in a position where he's famous, because his sport has grown in popularity so rapidly. All of a sudden you have a posse and you're going out to dinner before your fights and not working like you used to. He's not as hungry as when he made it. We're just starting the journey with him to find out what drives him."
Next up for Liddell; a match with Wanderlei Silva (31-7-1) on Dec 29 at "UFC: Nemesis".
