The Purdue Boilermakers look to build on their first conference win tonight as they visit a struggling Northwestern Wildcats squad hoping to avoid its third straight 0-4 Big Ten start. (AP Images)

Now that Robbie Hummel and Chris Kramer are healthy, the Boilermakers are optimistic that they can still compete for the top spot in the conference despite their surprisingly slow start.

A meeting with the Wildcats is exactly what Purdue needs to boost their confidence and start a run. Northwestern has lost its first three Big Ten games for the third straight season to fall to 3-34 against conference rivals since the beginning of 2006-07.

Northwestern has not had much luck at Welsh-Ryan Arena, where it’s lost 12 straight conference games. The Wildcats have also dropped four straight against Purdue, losing both meetings last season by an average of 20.0 points.
