Tonight the top-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers will try to open with 16 straight victories for the first time in five years as they host the South Florida Bulls, who have not beaten a ranked team on the road in 17 years. (AP Images)

Not only are the Bulls going up against the top dog in the nation but they have to overcome an 18-45 record in conference play (2-24 on the road) since joining the Big East. They've also lost 23 straight road games against Top 25 opponents since 1992.

Pittsburgh hasn't started a season with 16 straight victories since winning the first 18 games of 2003-04. The Panthers have won both meetings with South Florida since it joined the Big East.

This will be South Florida's third crack at upsetting a top-ranked team. The Bulls lost to North Carolina in 1981, and fell to Cincinnati in 2000. Will the third time be lucky? Get your college basketball betting now.
