The New Mexico Bowl (Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Eastern, ESPN) is expected to be a high-scoring affair between the Colorado State Rams (6-6 SU, 6-5 ATS) and the Fresno State Bulldogs (7-5 SU, 2-10 ATS). (Wikimedia Images)

Neither team is terribly good on defense, giving up 30 points per game this season. And both Colorado State QB Billy Farris and Fresno State QB Tom Brandstater have a respectable 17 TD throws to go along with 11 picks.

But look again. FSU is a running team, and RB Ryan Mathews has a bum knee that kept him out of the last four Bulldogs games (1-3 ATS). His status for Saturday is up in the air. Rams RB Gartrell Johnson (4.7 yards per carry) should be able to run rampant and chew up plenty of clock behind a superior offensive line, leaving the Bulldogs in a tough spot at 3-point faves (-105).
