| The New Mexico Bowl (Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Eastern, ESPN) is expected to be a high-scoring affair between the Colorado State Rams (6-6 SU, 6-5 ATS) and the Fresno State Bulldogs (7-5 SU, 2-10 ATS). (Wikimedia Images) |
Neither team is terribly good on defense, giving up 30 points per game this season. And both Colorado State QB Billy Farris and Fresno State QB Tom Brandstater have a respectable 17 TD throws to go along with 11 picks.
But look again. FSU is a running team, and RB Ryan Mathews has a bum knee that kept him out of the last four Bulldogs games (1-3 ATS). His status for Saturday is up in the air. Rams RB Gartrell Johnson (4.7 yards per carry) should be able to run rampant and chew up plenty of clock behind a superior offensive line, leaving the Bulldogs in a tough spot at 3-point faves (-105).
