The West Virginia Mountaineers scored early and often Thursday night as they demolished the previously unbeaten Maryland Terrapins, 31-14, at Byrd Stadium in College Park, Md.
Led by the overpowering running game featuring senior Steve Slaton, freshman Noel Devine and quarterback Patrick White, the No. 4 Mountaineers improved to 3-0 in the only game Thursday night that included a top 25 team. White, a junior signal caller, opened the scoring with a 22-yard run on his first carry of the game. West Virginia covered against the point spread of 17 while the betting total fell well under 62.
Slaton finished with 137 yards and three touchdowns while Devine amassed 136 yards on just five carries.
Maryland dropped to 2-1 after the loss in a game that was spotlighted on BodogLIVE, the exciting in-game betting program.
