Last week, the North Carolina Tar Heels were in the Top 25 and the Boston College Eagles were not. That’s part of the fossil record now. The Heels are 5-2 SU and 3-3 ATS after losing to Virginia (+3.5) in overtime last week. Boston College is on a four-game winning streak at 5-1 SU and 3-2 ATS.

The Tar Heels are still 3-point home favorites for Saturday’s matchup, although their juice has been cut to –105. These two programs have only met twice before, splitting a pair in 2004 and 2005. But they do have a common opponent this year: Virginia Tech.

In Week 4, North Carolina (-3.5) fell 20-17 to the Hokies. Then last Saturday, Boston College prevailed 28-23 as a 3-point chalk. Virginia Tech was the road team in both cases. However, the Tar Heels are stronger now with Cam Sexton at quarterback. Their future is bright.
