Saturday's game at Stanford could be dangerous for red-hot Oregon, as the Ducks have been told by national "experts" all week how good they are after crushing USC in one of the program's biggest wins to date. And in fact the Cardinal, who come in off a bye week, are just 7-point underdogs on Bodog's college football odds.

Stanford, at 5-3 off to its best eight-game start since 2001,  is unbeaten at home this season (4-0 ATS), averaging just over 33 points a game in its four wins – only one opponent has stayed within single digits of the Cardinal. Stanford has two excellent offensive players in QB Andrew Luck, whom the Ducks are saying will be the best quarterback they will face this season, and running back Toby Gerhart. The freshman Luck leads the Pac-10 in pass efficiency and has the most rushing yards by a Cardinal QB since 1971. And Gerhart is seventh nationally in rushing at 124.2 yards per game.

Oregon has owned this series, however, winning seven in a row against Stanford, the Ducks' longest current win streak against any Pac-10 foe. The Duck offense just put up 613 total yards (391 rushing) on Southern Cal, with QB Jeremiah Masoli vaulting himself into the Heisman race with 386 yards of total offense. Oregon has scored at least 42 points in the four Pac-10 games started by Masoli (he missed one injured). RB LaMichael James is averaging 137.6 yards rushing per game (7.4 yards per carry) in Pac-10 play.

Before deciding which way to go with the college football odds on this one, decide if Stanford can control the tempo. The Cardinal are a ball-control team and will try to chew up the clock with long drives and by pounding away with Gerhart, while Oregon (6-0 ATS in its past six) plays at a fast pace.
