Ah, those salad days. Both teams are 2-8 SU this year, with Miami at 4-4 ATS and Toledo at 5-5. One of them will climb out of the basement with a win Friday night; the NCAA odds say it will be the Rockets as 3-point home faves (-115).
Neither team got the memo about the MAC’s reputation as a quarterback factory. Toledo is No. 12 in the conference with 6.1 yards per pass attempt, while Miami is No. 13 and last at 5.8 yards. The under is a combined 12-5-1 for these two foundering clubs.
Miami is at least playing hard, bagging the cash in three of its last four, capped off by last week’s cover against undefeated Ball State (-17.5) in a 31-16 loss. Toledo needs to find some steel.
