The Navy Midshipmen (2-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) lost at Duke two weeks ago, then beat Rutgers 23-21 as a 6-point home dog. What gives?

Quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada, that’s who. He returned from a hamstring injury last week to lead Navy’s triple-option offense to victory; next up are the No. 18 Wake Forest Demon Deacons (3-0 SU, 2-0-1 ATS), who are No. 42 in the nation in rushing defense at 3.33 yards per carry. The Deacs are 16-point home faves.

Navy first-year coach Ken Niumatalolo knows a few things about the option offense. When Niumatalolo was quarterbacking Hawaii in the 1980s, former Midshipmen coach Paul Johnson was his offensive co-ordinator. Then Niumatalolo was Johnson’s assistant at Navy for six years before taking over the top job.

The Midshipmen are undervalued, and Wake Forest is coming off a win at Florida State and possibly looking ahead to Oct. 9 against Clemson. I like Navy to protect the ball and cover. Get all your NCAA College Football Odds in the Bodog Sportsbook today!
