Texas moved to 7-0 SU and ATS with Saturday’s 56-31 win over Missouri (+3.5). The ‘Horns stay on top of the AP and the coaches’ polls. Even better, they are now the unanimous No. 1 team. The Tigers drop to No. 16.

Most of the other contenders escaped Week 8 unscathed. BYU (6-1 SU, 2-4 ATS) did not, as the Cougars fell from No. 8 to No. 17 after Thursday night’s 32-7 loss to TCU (7-1 SU, 5-2 ATS). The Horned Frogs were 1.5-point home dogs in that affair; they rocket up the coaches’ rankings from No. 24 to No. 15.

The ACC saw the most upheaval among the BCS conferences, watching Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and North Carolina drop out after key losses. Hey, there’s always basketball.
