Nevada has the high-flying offense that makes casual fans drool: No. 5 in the FBS with 510.6 yards per game. But the slow and steady Terrapins could win this race as 2-point underdogs.
The numbers a team produces during the season are only as good as the conference in question. And the WAC simply wasn’t very good this year; Nevada was one of only three teams to post a winning record. The ACC, on the other hand, was a battle royale where nine of the 12 teams were north of .500.
Maryland is only 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS in its last five, but Nevada hasn’t been anything special at 3-2 SU and 2-3 ATS – again, against far lesser competition.
