College Football Update: Boston College Over Clemson, West Virginia Downs Cincinnati

Matt Ryan threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to a wide-open Rich Gunnell with1:46 to go, leading Boston College to a 20-17 victory over Clemson and a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.

Ryan passed for 315 yards, his seventh game with 300 yards or better this season.

Andre Callender caught 11 passes for 92 yards and led Boston College with 75 yards rushing.

Boston College closes its ACC season next week against Miami, then will face Virginia or Virginia Tech in Jacksonville for the ACC crown and the league's spot in the Bowl Championship Series. 

Meanwhile, over in Cincinatti, West Virginia quarterback Pat White ran the Bearcats right out of the Big East race with a 28-23 victory on Saturday night.

The Mountaineers can win their second Big East championship in three years by closing with victories over Connecticut and Pittsburgh . Their game against UConn in Morgantown next weekend will likely decide it.
