College Football Week 4 Picks: No. 13 Alabama at Arkansas

The results are usually close; two of the last five went into overtime, and Alabama won last year’s game 41-38 as a 3.5-point chalk.

That was last year. The ‘Hawgs don’t have nearly the same bite in 2008, not with star running backs Darren McFadden and Felix Jones moving on to the greener pastures of the NFL. Arkansas is a 10-point puppy for Saturday’s contest, and go figure, people seem hesitant to put their cash on a team that nearly lost to the Western Illinois Leathernecks of the FCS.

I can’t think of any particular reason to bet on Arkansas in this one. Being 4-1 ATS in the past five years just doesn’t cut it with new players and a new coach – Bobby Petrino can’t turn Arkansas into Louisville overnight.
