Cory Spinks the Favorite to Beat Verno Phillips

Thursday, March 27 in St. Louis, IBF junior middleweight champion Cory Spinks (36-4, 11 KO's) will fight in front of his hometown against IBF mandatory challenger Verno Phillips (41-10-1, 21 KO's), and if you're planning on going, you may want to get there early to find a decent parking spot.
The last time Spinks fought at home, 22,370 fans showed up to watch. It was the second largest attendance record in boxing history.
Spinks won the IBF 154-pound title on July 8, 2006 in St. Louis, beating Roman Karmazin (39-3, 21 KO's) by majority decision. He then moved up another weight class to fight Jermain Taylor (27-2, 17 KO's), losing a controversial split decision.
A former 3-time 154-pound world champion, Phillips won his last championship in 2004, but lost a close decision to Kassim Ouma (29-3, 15 KO's) in his next fight.

Currently, Spinks is the -650 favorite to beat Phillips in the Bodog Sportsbook. Phillips is a +450 underdog.
