Cung Le Upsets Frank Shamrock To Take Strikeforce Middleweight Title

Cung Le is the new Strikeforce middleweight champ.
In a brutal brawl Saturday night in San Jose, Cung Le badly broke Frank Shamrock’s wrist with a high kick and walked away with an upset TKO win and the Strikeforce middleweight title.
"I can feel the bones clicking," Shamrock said after the fight. "I just kept trying to fight through it, but, anybody who says Cung Le doesn't know submissions — he put one on my arm tonight — he's the better man. He's the champion man. He took me out. He's a good man."
Le, a decorated kick boxer with limited MMA experience, was a decided underdog to the champion Shamrock and paid +170 for the win.
"I caught him in the head first and then I was going to kick him again," said Le. "He pulled up his arm and I caught him with a kick. I heard his arm break. He kind of staggered back and I just chased him down with punches."
Le was ahead on the scorecard before the stoppage and ups his MMA record to 6-0 while Shamrock falls to 24-9-1.
