The Dallas Cowboys managed to end their two-game losing streak with a narrow victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite Tony Romo's absence from the lineup.

On the afternoon it was 40-year-old quarterback replacement Brad Johnson filling the void and the Cowboys managed to squeeze by the competitive Buccaneers to the tun of 13-9.

Terrell Owens led all Cowboys with just 33 receiving yards on five receptions.

Elsewhere in the NFL the New York Giants won their sixth game of the season, while Brett Favre's New York Jets prevailed over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The New England Patriots topped the St. Louis Rams while the Miami Dolphins prevailed against the Buffalo Bills.
