The Boston Celtics have revived the career of Darius Miles, signing the 26-year-old forward to a one-year deal.
Miles, a 6-9 forward, has not played the last two seasons due to microfracture surgery on his right knee.
Drafted in 2000 as the third overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers, Miles has posted career averages of 10.6 points and 5.2 rebounds. He last played for the Portland Trail Blazers, scoring 14 points and pulling down 4.6 rebounds in 40 games in the 2005-06 season.
He has show flashes of brilliance during his injury-riddled career and could be a nice replacement for the departed James Posey - assuming his knee holds up.
