April 11 in Atlantic City, N.J, two former UFC champions will fight when Don Frye (18-6-1) takes on "The Russian Bear" Oleg Taktarov (15-5-2).

Both Frye and Taktarov won UFC belts by defeating Tank Abbott in the finals of UFC tournaments. After winning the Ultimate Ultimate in 1996, Frye left the octagon to fight for Pride, where he beat Ken Shamrock and Yoshihisa Takayama in all-out brawls. Coming off a 47-second knockout win over Bryan Pardoe in January, Frye will present a tough challenge for the Russian.

Takatarov beat Abbott in 1995 to win UFC 6: Clash of the Titans. After fighting overseas, Taktarov left fighting in 1998 to pursue an acting career and landed roles with Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino among others. In November of 2007, Taktarov fought for the first time in nearly a decade, beating John Marsh by kneebar submission at Bodog Fight: USA vs. Russia in Moscow.

The fight between Frye and Taktarov will headline the first event by YAMMA Pit Fighting, an organization owned by UFC founder Bob Meyrowitz, who sold the UFC to Zuffa in January of 2001.
