Fedor Emelianenko Defeats Hong Man Choi

Fedor Emelianenko continued his winning streak at "Yarennoka"
On New Year's Eve, Fedor Emelianenko proved once again he is best heavyweight fighter in MMA by defeating Hong Man Choi in the first round of "Yarennoka" at the Saitama Super Arena near Tokyo, Japan.
Fedor's revealed his game plan early by immediately shooting in and taking Choi to the ground. The crafty Russian's first attempt at an armbar failed and the two fighters made their way back to a standing position before Fedor took Choi down again.
Although he was caught by a number of Choi punches, Emelianenko imposed his will on the 7-foot 2-inch Korean monster from the guard en route to the textbook armbar submission win at 1:54 of the first round.
The MMA event continues the Japanese tradition of New Year's super fights and pays at -800.
