Golden State Warriors Are Done

by Bodog Beat News Ticker  |  April 14th, 2008

Good-bye, Golden State. The Warriors were officially eliminated from NBA playoff contention tonight in Phoenix where the Suns beat them 122-116.

Amare Stoudemire led all scorers with 28 points.

The up-and-down affair saw the Suns take a 71-57 halftime lead only to be outscored 38-19 by the visitors in the third quarter to trail by five. However, a fourth-quarter comeback would follow for the Suns and, as a result, the Warriors are out.

Missing the postseason is a cruel fate for Golden State (48-33), which will finish well above .500 and watch teams like Atlanta (37-43) participate in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

As for the Suns, the win was nice. The fact they might have to play San Antonio in the first round is not.
