"I could get 30 or 40 every night real easy" – George Gervin

NBA Hall of Famer George Gervin spoke with recently-launched web site The Good Point at length regarding a number of subjects including just how well he feels he would fare in the modern NBA era.
In addition to spreading awareness about high blood pressure, describing his relationship with a young Michael Jordan and talking in detail about his 63-point performance in 1978, Gervin mentions how he figures he would do in today's watered down NBA.
With the drastic changes to the NBA's handchecking rules, essentially eliminating all contact on the court's perimeter, Gervin feels he and the rest of his era could have had more of an impact.
Not that the impact they did have wasn't worthy of enough praise already.
Gervin became the first guard to ever lead the league in scoring for three consecutive seasons, was named to nine NBA All-Star games and dominated the score sheet throughout his tenure as a San Antonio Spur.
How would he manage today? Who knows. How will today's generation of NBA stars fare? Check out the Bodog Sportsbook for all your NBA betting needs.
