The Patriots have shown with the signings of Rodney Harrison and Junior Seau that they'll gladly take on an older player who's had a successful career. Today, they re-confirmed it.
Reports out of the New England camp claim that the Pats have signed Lynch to a one-year, $1.5 million deal to fill the Tank Williams void. Williams, who was expected to be used 10-to-25 plays a game in certain defensive packages that needed a hard-hitting safety, suffered a season-ending knee injury in training camp. Ergo, the need for Lynch, who at 36 still believes he has some gas left in the tank.
Lynch, who spent his first 11 seasons with Tampa Bay, played every snap in Denver's last three games last season, but earlier he was taken out on passing downs.
