Hook N Shoot tournament winner and Bodog Fight veteran Kaitlin Young (4-1-0) will fight female mixed martial arts sensation Gina Carano (5-0-0) May 31, when EliteXC broadcasts their first event on CBS.
Matchmakers announced the fight Wednesday, adding the bout to a card featuring Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson (2-0-0) in the main event.
Other fights on the card include UFC veterans Robbie Lawler (15-4-0) and Scott Smith (13-4-0) in a match for the middleweight title and a bout between "The New York Badass" Phil Baroni (10-9-0) and Murilo "Ninja" Rua (15-8-1).
Young suffered the first loss of her career at Bodog Fight: Nick Thompson vs. John Troyer in Las Vegas when opponent Sarah Schneider (2-0-0) caught her in an armbar in the second round.
Previous to that loss, Young swept the competition at an 8-woman tournament, defeating 3 opponents by knockout in one night.
Carano remains undefeated. Her most recent win came by a choke submission over Tonya Evinger (6-3-0) in September at EliteXC: Uprising.
