For all the talk about the big names looking to take advantage of Tiger Woods' absence - Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Jim Furyk et al - it's a big, lanky Swede who's doing it today.

In something of a stunner, unheralded Robert Karlsson is the early co-leader at the PGA championship, shooting a solid two-under 57 through 15 holes of play. Karlsson got off to a fantastic start, nailing five birdies on the front nine to finish out at 32.

Other big names close to the top of the leaderboard include Furyk (-2), Billy Mayfair (-2), Garcia (E) and Camilo Villegas (E).
